Sometimes, burner nozzles don’t ignite properly or the flame is very weak. Sometimes, the problem can be solved by flushing the burners. Often, this is thought to be a gas supply issue, but it’s actually a much simpler problem.
Food residue accumulates on burners, including the nozzles . When it hardens, it weakens the flame and sometimes even prevents it from lighting. Fortunately, the nozzles can be cleaned with a simple trick.
Before you begin, it’s important to take the proper precautions . This problem can also be caused by a gas buildup or even a leak. For this reason, it’s important to turn off the gas before performing the trick.
The first thing you should do after turning off the gas is remove the burners from the cooktop . This step is very simple.
Take a piece of thin but strong wire and wrap one end in electrical tape. Then insert that end into the gas exit hole , just as you would with a cotton swab.
Repeat this step for each hole, then place the burners back in place, making sure they are securely fastened.
All that’s left to do is turn on the burner and check that everything is working properly. The flame will, of course, be stronger and more even.
This operation allows us not only to improve the cooking process by ensuring more even heat distribution, but also to save money.
